About Me
I am a qualified Sports Massage Therapist using different techniques including Myofascial Release and on occasions but rarely a massage gun. I also practice deep tissue massage, relaxing Swedish and more recently bamboo massage.
As far as Sports Massage is concerned I am of the belief that it does NOT have to be painful to be of benefit to you. I will only work to someone’s tolerance. I want my client to be as relaxed as possible because then I can work on the soft tissue to a deeper level than on a client who is so tense because of pain being inflicted that the tissues are then much harder to work, and can therefore bruise more easily. That is not to say that sometimes it can become uncomfortable and yes at times painful but only when absolutely necessary.
So, whether you require sports massage to support and aid recovery to an injury, deep tissue and Swedish massage to assist the healing of strains or simply some well deserved pampering I am more than able to assist, and each treatment is carefully tailored to your individual needs.
I also practice more holistic therapies such as Reflexology, Reiki in which I am a Reiki Master/Teacher, Hopi Ear Candling, Facials and eventually I will be qualified in warm and hot waxing.
.
By nature I have a passion and desire to help others, partly from my own experiences having had a variety of surgeries that required lots of rehab and determination to get back to as normal a life as possible. I do feel that this sometimes gives me an edge in understanding how people feel when they come to me in pain, whether it is a back injury, joint injury or even someone who is just mentally and physically tired because of constant pain as I have experienced all of these journeys.
I love the hands on approach, being able to feel what the muscles are doing. I love being able to see the change in someone who will come in to see me feeling tired, stressed, in pain and leaving with a lightness about them.
I am interested in anatomy, musculoskeletal biomechanics and how the body works in general. I enjoy studying and learning from the physiotherapists at the clinic that I practice from, as well as learning new disciplines for myself. Even going through the training to become an NHS Vaccinator.
The holistic approach for me is that if you can put the mind into a good place, the body will have a better chance to help itself.
So if you require a massage or treatment that can aid mind, body and spirit, or just some good old-fashioned and well deserved pampering – I look forward to meeting you.
